Hello there…

I am Boon, the founder and chef of Karuna Vegan. We are a purely vegan and lacto-vegetarian oriental home kitchen located in Gilmerton Edinburgh, Scotland. Our kitchen passionately prepares and serves a variety of fresh, healthy and delicious home-cooked food options to our customers.

Karuna Vegan is established in the interest of living beings. Karuna is a Sanskrit word (करुणा) for compassion. This reflects the core purpose of our kitchen. We aim to convey the messages of environmental together with health issues, and to express compassion towards all living beings.

Our goal, firstly, is to create a place in the community where people can go to for their healthy “green” food. Secondly, it is to promote veganism and vegetarianism as a way of living by loving and respecting living beings. We care for our environmental resources, health and wellness. When we cherish nature, nature will cherish us in return.
